About Oak Rise

The Padella's are longtime residents of Suttons Bay and also own and operate Padella Building Company.  They are known for their well-built, custom homes with attention to detail for more than 43 years.  Recognizing the need for smaller, more practical homes, the Padella's purchased Oak Rise property in 2018 and immediately began engineering and preparing the infrastructure for 13 single family homes on 1/2 acre +/- sites.  The Oak Rise property consists of 36+ acres of open meadow, tall majestic oak and maple trees, and a thriving wetland that is home to a myriad of wildlife including deer, fox, songbirds, eagles, and more.  The east to west orientation of the neighborhood boasts big blue skies with colorful sunrises and sunsets.  Four carefully designed "to-be-built" home plans by Frank Padella, complement the uniqueness and beauty of the property and location.

Ora Lee Lane

The plans and road names pay homage to Ora Lee Eckerle (1911-1995), who resided in that location and was known for her green thumb that was said to "work wonders with vegetables and flowers".  So much so, that all summer long, passersby would pull over to get a better look of her yard and gardens hoping for some divine inspiration.  Eckerle said in an interview with the Record Eagel, "They think I'm magic, but I'm not.  I love to work outside.  And I just like to see things grow."  Padella's, much like Eckerle, envision a thoughtful community where families and relationships can grow within their natural surroundings.  The neighborhood includes common areas including convenient access to the TART trail that provides direct access to the Village of Suttons Bay.  Oak Rise provides custom homes with various sizes and styles to a highly desirable community.
